You know how kids go through phases like the I want to wear my superhero costume everywhere even to bed phase or the I only want to eat fish fingers for dinner for the next four months phase, well I think I'm going through a slight mesh phase. This is quite painful seeing as I don't actually own any mesh clothing, but I am thinking of ordering this top from ebay.  I think the reason I love this trend so much is because it can be worn under and over things and still look really cool, which can't be said about many other trends. Also, asos has some really nice mesh stuff at the moment, which I would totally buy if I wasn't always broke(This is obviously nothing to do with after school trips to the sweet shop).

/// mini stationary haul

On Tuesday, me and my friends decided to go to Westfield Stratford for the day.  I think the beauty of living in London is that nearly everywhere is just a tube journey away. I have come to the conclusion that I hate shopping malls, I just think they're way too constricted and quite hard to get around especially in Westfield, with about a gazillion people walking in every direction. All complaining aside, there I fell in love with a lil store you may know called Tiger.  There is nothing more dangerous than putting me in a shop full of stationary.  Damage was done, but to my surprise it wasn't to my purse, each of the items above costed just £1!! Paperchase quality products at a fraction of the price!

turtle necks

I recently discovered pinterest and as a result I will probably be attacking you with these type posts more often. Any who these seventies style tops are back for this autumn / winter and couldn't be happierThere's nothing better than a top that also works as a scarf, all while making you feel like Audrey Hepburn.

What do you think of the turtle neck trend?

seeing the 1975

(Photos from my friends instagram / @elimckenziex)

So on Wednesday last week,  I got to see the 1975's last UK tour date at Alexandra Palace. And they were amazing. I have mentioned in a few posts on this blog before how much I love them, but seeing them live increased my love for them by about 10000%. I went with my friend Eli and we traveled (with my mum) by train. The queue when we got there was absolutely massive! Seeing as it was my first concert I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it was so so so great, despite the fact that my feet ached so much from standing for 5 hours (*note to self, never wear heels to a standing concert). The energy was amazing and so were the two guest acts, Y.O.U and Circa Waves. Circa waves definitely have a Vampire Weekend type sound, which I loved. The actual main act the 1975, were fantastic, as to be expected. I loved seeing everyone dancing, and everyone singing along with their hands in the air.  It was one of the best nights ever and I can't wait to go to another concert!

15th birthday haul

On Monday it was my birthday and so far being fifteen hasn't really felt that different to being fourteen. Except for the fact that I am now legally old enough to watch fifteen movies in the cinema! However, it is pretty frightening that in five years I would have already finished high school, college and maybe started uni ??!!!  Anyways today I thought I would share with you some of the lovely gifts I got from my friends and family for my birthday, all of which I am so extremely thankful for! I've already started teaching myself to play 'Riptide' on the ukulele!

Hope you are all having a lovely day!

duster coats

So I'm not sure how long duster coats have been a thing for, but I only recently found out about them from Lily Melrose and I have been wanting one ever since. I have been obsessively adding them to my asos shopping basket without actually having any material money to pay for them. I just think that they're the perfect transitional jacket, look super sophisticated and are great for the warmer autumn months. I also just love the kind of androgynous vibe the shape gives. I definitely think duster coats are going to be just as popular as this spring/summer's 'kimono'.

brighton photo diary

On Friday, my mum, lil sis and I took a short trip to Brighton. We stayed in a Jurys Inn for the night and came back on Saturday. The atmosphere in Brighton was amazing! Lots of little cake shops and boutiques tucked away in little lanes and more buskers than I've ever seen. Not to mention being by the coast!  It was really lovely (albeit slightly breezy) to just sit by the sea for a while.

Shoreditch and a coffee shop.

Dirty Coffee

So this morning was pretty hectic, we woke up super early so we could drop my grandparents at Kings Cross Station, for their 12:35 train to Leeds. Lots of changes and eight suitcases, not a great mix! Afterwards, I spotted an American Apparel, which I just had to go into so I could mooch at clothes that I can't afford (a favourite past time of mine apparently). And I know that American Apparel is essentially just overpriced basics, but how can you not love aa. I mean, c'mon. After a lot of walking we (my mum, lil sis and I) wound up in a market, which I can't remember the name of, but after skipping breakfast we were all extremely hungry and so we went to a nearby Chinese restaurant. I ordered king prawn egg fried rice, which was absolutely delicious! After a lot more walking and mooching we found this lovely coffee shop called Dirty Coffee, the decor was amazing! I ordered green tea, which may I just say, came in the cutest teapot I think I've ever seen.

Harry Potter Studio Tour

Displaying image.pngDisplaying image.png

So last week Friday was my school's activities day, which is basically a day at the end of the year where everyone picks a trip they want to go on for the day. Naturally as an avid harry potter fan I chose to go on the Harry Potter studio tour.  I was extremely exited as I had been waiting for this trip to come around for months.  It was great to look around at all the sets, costumes and props and seeing all the behind the scenes effort that went into the movies. Also we got to try Butterbeer and Bertie Bott's every flavour beans which were kind of gross, but an experience nonetheless! I think I was expecting it to be more magical, but for the most part it was a great day.  For anyone who loves the films and wants to check it out themselves I think it would be a great day out!

caged chunky sandals

I had been wanting a pair of plain, somewhat fashionable sandals/shoes for a while, but I had also been wanting a pair of jellies.  But these caged sandals came into my life and seemed to fit the bill perfectly landing somewhere between the two styles. I love the mid heel and they are super comfy to walk (and run) around in. I picked them up in black as it is such a versatile colour (however the holographic ones were fab!) and I think these will be a really great pair of shoes for the remaining summer months. Oh, and they look super awesome with frilly socks, which I will be stocking up on to wear with these!
